Lilly's Biography

Lilly Cryan grew up in the New England town of Haverhill, Massachussetts. She began her dance training at a young age after seeing her older cousin's dance recital. She trained at The Salem Dance Network under the Direction of Teri Desrosiers. There she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Modern dance. After her senior year of high school she ventured down to Towson, Maryland to earn her B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Towson University. There she studied Ballet, Modern, and Aerial dance with Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Catherine, Horta Hayden, Ronqiao Du, Jayne Bernascone, and Vincent Thomas. She currently resides in Boston, Ma where she performs, choreographs, and trains. 

 

Lilly has performed in various works including Perfect Symmetry choreographed by Ronqiao Du, Le Chanson choreographed by Christopher K. Morgan, Legends directed by Ronqiao Du, and #Like a Hammer with Kairos Dance Theater. In addition to performing she has also stage managed  A State of Grace directed by Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell. She finds joy in choreographing her own works as well. Her work has been premeired at Towson University in Towson MD, Choen Auditorium in Medford MA, andThe Dance Complex in Cambridge MA. Lilly is currently collaborating with musicina Coung Nguyen to produce a solo work which will Premiere in Cambridge MA.

 

In addition to dance Lilly also practices and teaches Vinyasa Yoga. She discovered yoga after a dance teacher incorporated yoga into a warm up. While at Towson Lilly began practicing yoga at Sid Yoga Center. In 2014 Lilly completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification at Sid Yoga Center. She now enjoys finding parallels between dance and yoga. Her movement preference and choreography continue to be shaped by her love of yoga.
